In order to reduce wheelhouse distraction and make it easier for captains to get to the information they need while on the water, BargeOps now offers a Resource tab in our Onboard software. This is now the one place for Captains to go to access company documents, reference materials, hyperlinks to other information, or any other document that they need to access.
BargeOps makes it easy to manage the information and documents displayed on the Resources tab. Documents or other types of resources can be managed from BargeOps Onshore and then pushed out to the boats for access in BargeOps Onboard. In addition, BargeOps can assign the resources to boats based on the role of the boat. For example, documents or links for Fleet or Harbor Services boats would not be seen by Towing or Crew Services boats unless each role is assigned. This ensures that the right information reaches the right boats. Captains don’t need to be distracted by having to wade through information that is not relevant to their job on the river.
